The Vector Base Plate is precision-machined for the Vector Top Cap. Using it with a different cap may cause misalignment, uneven blade exposure, or poor shave quality. Check that you have a Vector Top Cap before starting.
How to install the Vector Base Plate
- Remove the old base plate: Unscrew the handle from your razor. Slide off the current base plate and set it aside. Keep the top cap in place. Do not mix base plates from different razor models — they are not interchangeable.
- Align the Vector Base Plate: Hold the Vector Base Plate so its cutting slots face the same direction as the top cap's blade tabs. Slide it onto the handle threads with the flat side facing the cap. Check that the base plate sits flush against the top cap before inserting a blade.
- Insert the blade and tighten: Place a double-edge blade onto the top cap alignment pins. Screw the handle back on, tightening until the base plate and cap clamp the blade evenly. Do not overtighten. If the blade is crooked or the base plate wobbles, loosen and realign before retightening.
